Christy started singing in her mother’s womb and hasn’t stopped since. Her love for music was cultivated by her father who is a singer/songwriter/drummer/guitarist and has fond memories of jamming around the campfire with him. As a teenager, Christy reached the upper echelons of music in her high school when she auditioned for and earned spots in the coveted Concert Choir and Chamber Singers. Also during this time, she started to come out of her shell to start following in her father’s footsteps to become a solo performer. She began to solo in her choirs, sing at weddings, recorded some backups in the studio for some of her dad’s songs, and even sang for a benefit on TV.

Although music continued to be a part of Christy’s life in young adulthood, it wasn’t until Christy was 25 that she began auditioning for bands to fulfill the musician in her. Since then, she has made her way through several great bands, learning and growing the whole time. She has played everything from Madonna, Shania Twain, and Aretha Franklin to Pat Benetar, Republica, and Heart and everything in between. In 2001 history was made: She met her husband, Ryan (Stereotype’s lead guitarist) in a band and they made beautiful music together. Through the years, they were in a couple of bands together, but it wasn’t until 2005 that they started Stereotype. The band has been a large part of her life since and her love for music shows every time she gets on stage!

Besides the band, my hobbies are spending time with my family, watching movies, reading, editing photos, and playing Spider Solitaire (I’m addicted!)

SM 58 wireless mic, my larynx, Yamaha keyboard, hand percussion instruments (and, of course, all the equipment my husband owns…)
